Dan Lenard, the superyacht designer, left yesterday from Cadiz, Spain, for Miami, USA. How? On a 10-meter sailboat, without instruments. Pure sailing for the sailing and motor boat designer of the renowned Nuvolari Lenard studio, who with this trip wants to promote boating and the need for immediate action to preserve the clean environment.
Boating without instruments, only in the middle of the ocean
Pure sailing for Dan Lenard who will not be able to communicate until he reaches the Caribbean. Meanwhile, his team will post daily news and live monitoring regarding the crossing.
The reasons for the trip
Dan Lenard will sail 1,400 miles without technology. It is an extreme challenge that the designer issued with one goal: to call attention to the need for immediate and concrete action to protect the sea.
“Every step of the way is carefully planned,” he revealed to Boat International, “including packing the appropriate food, so when I get to the other side, I won’t take with me (or leave along the way) even a bit of trash from Europe.”
HERE ARE THE DETAILS OF THE TRIP
