Somnio will be the largest superyacht in the world
The launch is scheduled for mid-2024, while now the construction of Somnio as anticipated is underway at VARD in Norway. This yacht definitely raises the bar by aiming to break more than one record. Winch Design and Tillberg Design are the design and architectural firms that are working on this giant.
The owners of this boat will be divided among 39 apartments on the six decks. The yacht will be equipped with everything an owner might want. Moreover, the possibility of winning a place on this yacht will not be open to everyone. It will only be possible to get in by invitation or recommendation and with a large bank account: a house here costs at least 9.5 million euros.
Somnio, the seven-star superyacht
The amenities aboard this superyacht are somewhere between a luxury yacht and a seven-star hotel. They include a 10,000-bottle-capacity wine cellar and tasting room, then restaurants and bars, and an onboard beach club with water sports facilities. A lounge at the bow of the ship will also provide spectacular views when sailing in scenic areas or when entering port.
“Embarking on such a spectacular project, explains Jim Dixon, director of Yachts & Aviation at Winch Design, and pioneering brings a tremendous amount of pride and excitement to the Winch Design team and follows a tremendous amount of hard work already achieved. It is a privilege to work with Tillberg Design and the VARD shipyard on what will be a revolutionary industry landmark. We look forward to working closely with everyone involved and can’t wait to see it develop!”
