As every year, the METS in Amsterdam (the world’s largest trade fair for nautical accessories, 19-21 November) is awarded the DAME Design Award, the prizes for the most innovative products, selected by an international jury of experts.
We don’t know yet who will win, but we’ve taken a look at the 59 “nominees” in the competition in the various categories (electronics, furniture and interiors, products for ports, deck and rigging accessories, clothing, safety, propulsion). DIGITAL YACHT – GPS160 TRINAV
The GPS160 TriNav is a high-performance position sensor that uses GPS, Glonass and the new Galileo satellite system. It has multiple interfaces and improves accuracy and reduces tracking difficulties that may occur due to spoofing and local interference. It also supports a simple external “Man overboard” function that creates a “synthesized” MOB AIS message that can be interfaced with the charplottter.
