Announced at the last Cannes Yachting Festival, the new Jeanneau DB/43 marks the French shipyard’s debut in the high-end of day boats. This new XL walkaround projects the yard to battle in the most crowded and coveted market segment of the moment. Owners (when they’re not buying an explicitly cruiser) want a carft that allows them to enjoy their day at sea to the full. Comfort, space, smart solutions and power, plus a bit of space below deck. There are those who choose them as day boats, and those who want them as a support boat for a large mothership. In short, the “Wallytender” effect (watch the interview here) is continuing to make itself felt today. One of the references on the market in terms of type and size is the Cranchi A46 Luxury Tender.

In anticipation of our sea trial scheduled for this week, let’s take a sneak preview of the brand-new Jeanneau DB/43, the first ever model in the DB range. It is a 14-metre powerboat that aims to position itself in the top end of the market. The aim of this new family of Jeanneau boats? To bring comfort on deck and in navigation to the highest level ever achieved by the yard.

Powerful engines, modern design and total comfort on board. Jeanneau’s new Day Boat range is a game changer, but also a way of keeping up with the times. The new Jeanneau DB/43 is available in both outboard and inboard versions depending on whether you want a more or less liveable stern platform, additional volume below deck or different performance solutions. This depends on the owner, however, even in the outboard version this boat seems to be able to offer a lot of space in the stern.

The yard promises a responsive, powerful and stable model that is not only safe but also easy to handle. The well-established collaboration between Camillo Garroni and Jeanneau has been replicated on this model. And the line of this outboard offers an essential design with a very high level of comfort on board.

The new DB/43 has been designed to give the owner moments of sharing. This type of boat has an airy deck plan with an aft platform and two side terraces that can be opened to create a real Beach Club.

  1. From an aesthetical point of view, a building abuse that looks like an iron. Very noisy (watch the video made by Motor Boat & Yachting), even if it costs a lot, it gives the feeling of being cheap. Finally, with a total tank capacity of 800 liters, it has a range of approximately 120 nautical miles at 25 knots (consumption at 25 knots 108 liters a mile). Conclusion: an ugly, cheap and useless boat.
