But what exactly does the system consist of? Well, the Compact Parallel Hybrid is mainly a Parallel hybrid-electric propulsion system. Basically, offered in a‘wide variety of solutions’ combining FPT diesel engines (125 Kw to 735 Kw) with proportionate electric motors and battery-packs, it is a hybrid power unit system that enables specific requirements and needs to be achieved, moving in power ranges from 100 to 1000 equivalent horsepower, whether these are for the commercial or recreational sector.
So what results from this collaboration between FPT Industrial and Vulkan Hybrid Architect is. a hybrid propulsion system designed to maximize performance while minimizing and reducing both costs, fuel consumption and environmental impacts.
