The non-slip paint you apply “do-it-yourself”

The first non-slip solution is KiwiGrip (found in Indemar‘s booth), which is ideal for your deck and for do-it-yourselfers. It is a water-based, weather-resistant acrylic paint. KiwiGrip is non-toxic and does not contain solvents.

The application is done with a special roller, you can decide the thickness and “grain” of the anti-slip depending on the pressure you apply. The product’s light weight and affordability make it one of the most popular choices used by sailors who care about substance or performance: there are many ocean sailors, for example, who rely on non-slip paints!

The boat anti-slip inspired by Hawaii’s surfers

Another solution was devised by Harken and was inspired by surfers in Hawaii who had a practical problem. Finding a way to attach something to the board that would not make them slip at crucial moments in the surf and that would not be abrasive to the feet.

Marine Grip Harken non-slip decking

Here, Harken Marine Grip has taken the best of this invention and transferred it to the boat. This tape, which can be cut out as needed, fits on any boat treading surface. It is non-abrasive and also not made of foam that could absorb water, it is easily installed anywhere without the need for specialists.
